Running back to Saskatoon

Melissa and I made a little trip to Saskatoon last weekend. We headed up for Dallas and Heidi's wedding. We even slipped out to Bethany to go check it out. First time I've been there since 2003. We ran into a few people at the college like Erica Scammell (almost Baerwald), Kelsie Lynn (Kahn), Rosemary Thiessen, and Dave Carey. It was quite fun to chat with them and really neat to show Melissa the college.
On top of that, we snuck over to the Siebert's to pay them a surprise visit. This was very exciting as Phil and Shirl had us sit down and join them for lunch and participate in one of my all time favorite things: discussion with Bethany greatest professor of all time. It amazes me that to this day when Phil talks I'm both inspired and encouraged. He was my mentor for two years at Bethany and let me into his life a little bit. I love that man it was a privilege to be able to share some time with him.

Of course the whole reason for which we went up to Saskatoon was Dallas and Heidi's wedding. This was a great time as we were able to visit both with Dallas and Heidi on Thursday night and then connect with lots of other Bethany friends as well. Dallas had Jon Hamm, Josh Pauls, his friend Curtis, and myself stand up with him. We had a great time and even through Dallas into the pool at the rehearsal dinner.

Great wedding fun times! We saw lots of people and then drove home. It went by quick but was lots of fun.

Best in-laws ever!

On Wednesday night I was informed that my mom and dad in-law and my wife and I would be heading to Evanston (1 hour and 20 minutes away) to watch a show. We got there and kept on going and they informed me we were going to Canada to visit my parents. I started freaking out about work and all the responsibilities and quickly found out that Melissa had already taken care of it. It was so cool! We drove 16 1/2 hours and got there Thursday morning, hung out with my parents, grandparents, friends and family, then left Saturday morning at 4:30. We made it back it in time Saturday night to get a good night sleep and be in church on Sunday. My in-laws and my wife are amazing!

So pretty much they wanted to meet my family and see where I grew up. I truly have the best in-laws ever! For all my friends and students that get married it is a prayer of mine for them to have a great family that they marry into. It is a great blessing. It's cool for me to say that DeLon is one of my heroes in life and that Barb is an amazing woman that I love and respect. That's cool! On top of that, they both came into the pig barn with Dad and I because they were both interested in seeing what that was all about. Now that is amazing! (probably more to amazing to you that have ever been around a hog barn)

Anyway, the one lesson I have learned besides I have amazing in-laws (which I new, but this just added to it) is that it really isn't that far of a trip to Utah.

Memory and Hope

For those who still remember...
One of the greatest things I miss, as I live here in Utah, is the good old hockey game. I am starting to play men's league again but it has been two years. Longest absence of play in my life. I'm excited about and have a better helmet. It will dawn the logo of the greatest team in and some of the best memories of my life.

All there is to know

Haven't posted in a while:
Sold our house in December and bought a different house in January. We've been moving in ever since.
Happenings worth mentioning:
1. Church had a building campaign and we're finally moving out of our warehouse space into our own building.
2. Still a junior high pastor...still love it.
3. Adam Bryce and my cousin Kaylee visited. Much fun!
4. Friends Nick and Naomi visited. Also much fun!
5. Found out Joel Krueger is getting married.
6. Shot rabbits eye out with my .22 (hard shot to make)

That's it for now.
